I'm stuck on a problem and I'm enlisting the help of the brightest food minds in the world:
I just received about 2 kilos of moti choor laddus from India. I need to know how I can preserve these for a long time, and not let them go to waste. There is no way I or anyone I know can consume these anytime soon. (so the 'give them away' suggestion doesn't count :) ) I would love any pointers on if or how I can freeze these for later, and of there are any great recipes for thawed out moti choor laddus.

...like Rajesh Khanna's character 'Raghu' in the Hrishikesh Mukherjee film 'Bawarchi'...I think all good cooks must be blessed by the Goddess Annapoorna...and from what raghu says in the film I gather that she gives you, as her blessing, a Kadchhi or ladle, with which you can work your culinary miracles...

well when i got married and had got lots of ladoos and other yummy good stuff i did place the sweets in the freezer. It would help..labor intensive but...wrap each individual ladoo in a foil...put about 6 foil wrapped laddoo each per ziplock..make sure all the air is out of the zip lock and freeze.
I've done about the same thing as Rajitha mentioned, but used plastic wrap instead. Again, I wrapped each sweet individually and tossed them in ziplocs and that seemed to preserve them ok. Good luck!
Double wrapped and frozen is great. You can make Bhoondi Kheer too.

wrap them in fols and store in air-tight containers in freezer. microwave them for 5-8 seconds when you want to eat them! I've used these for a month this way, so you shouldn't be having a problem:)
Two things you can do - (1) make kheer using the crushed laddus. (2) Grind them. Freeze them & later use them in either halwas or burfis.
